In this week's Afrocade Thursday Music throwback, we're taking it all the way to Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire🇨🇮. Magic system - an Ivorian musical group that dominated the airways with their hit song "1er Gaou". It was the hit song off their album- "Premier Gaou". Which was released in 2002, and went on to sell over 300,000 copies in France. The album put a spotlight on the indie group and earned them a certified Gold record. If you know this song, without a shadow of doubt, you'll have a flashback to a typical African birthday party. Pretty much all the Dj's had this on replay. This record also lead to the breakthrough of the zouglou dance💃🏽💃🏽(which originated in Cote d'Ivoire in the mid-1990s).
